Hi, I'm Tanya
Storytelling has been central to my life since childhood. Both my parents were journalists at mainstream newspapers and I grew up listening to the stories behind the stories and hearing the comical and entertaining tales of life in a newsroom.
This led me to complete an undergraduate degree in English and History at Stellenbosch University followed by an honours degree in journalism.
My career kicked off as a text journalist for weekly newspaper The Sunday Times and for the daily online platform, Times Live. Following that, I became a freelance correspondent for international wire agency, Agence France Presse.
I transitioned to video journalism and eventually moved away from the news world completely which allowed me more freedom to explore video and photography as a medium.
I enjoy working with clients to conceptualise what type of content they need to achieve their goals.
While I have worked on a range of projects with different outcomes, my passion lies in creating content for positive impact causes.
